FAQ

Group one is for those of you thinking about using our system but still have a few questions to ask before making a decision.

Group two is for those of you already decided to use our system and you are in the process of creating your own website. If after reading this page you still have questions, then please feel free to contact us via our "Contact Us" page located in the top right hand corner of this page.

Thinking of using our system?

These questions will apply to you if you haven't got an account with us and you've not yet tried building your own website using our system.

Who owns the finished website?

You do! A farmer owns his crops even if he hires equipment to harvest them!   It's exactly the same principle with our system. You use our system to create and look after your website.   The end result is yours i.e. you own the copyright to your images, wording, etc...

What are the hidden costs, if any?

Other than the hosting charge, there may be a small charge to purchase a domain name.  This usually costs £29.99 for a 2 year registration (.com, .net, .co.uk, .org). This is the minimum requirement to get your website online.

You claim to be search engine optimised, how?

Minimal markup has been used for the design of the website and correct markup is used or formatting such as headings (correct h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 tags are used). Important keywords are included in the browser title as well as in the web address itself by using powerful URL rewriting techniques. This all helps to emphasise your keywords and get your website higher in search engine results.

You're a business, how do you survive on £14.99 a month?

This only works with large quantities of clients. For example, 100 clients paying £179.88 every 12 months equates to £17,988.  This pays to keep the system online, pays hosting costs, and pays for continued updates to the system.

What happens to my website if you guys abandon ship?

We are a business with 3 directors overseeing the company. The chance that all 3 directors leave at the same time is minimal.  If, however, we all decide to leave, we would either sell the company, or, at the very least, keep all your websites online. We would no longer accept new clients, do updates or offer customer support. This is a very negative way of looking at things though!

Trying to build your own website?

These questions will apply to you if you already have an account with us and you're trying to build your own website using our system.

How do I add/change images on my web pages?

Visit the page you want to add/change an image to. Click on the image or position the cursor where you want the image to be placed (the best place is at the start of a paragraph). Then in the editor, move your mouse cursor over the icons until you see one that looks like a little picture (leave your cursor over it for a second or two to read the explanation of what it is - it should say "Insert Image"). Click the icon, then a window should load up, click "upload" in the top right corner of the window, click "browse", find the image you want to upload, click "upload", once completed, click "cancel". There should then be a little preview of the picture you just uploaded. If not, repeat the process again. If there is, click the image. This will then insert the image on your page, or replace a selected one. You can then click the image, and resize it by dragging the little boxes around it.  Click "Save Changes" and it's all done!

How do I add Google Analytics?

Make sure you are in "Mode: Website Builder - Intermediate" or higher user mode located in the drop down box in the top left of the page. Then click "Settings" in the top right of the page, then click "Traffic Analytics". Follow the instructions from there....

How do I add links to a page?

Edit a paragraph on a page, then highlight the text or select an image that you want to turn into a link. Then click the little picture of 3 chain links in the editor (hover the mouse over it and it should say "Insert/Edit Link"). Click it. Then in the Link URL type: http://google.com/.   You might also want to change the "target" so that it opens in a new window when it's clicked on. Click "insert" and "Save Changes" and you're done!

How do I change my domain name's "nameservers"?

Contact whoever you registered your domain name with, or, if possible, login to their control panel. You are looking for a page called "nameservers" or anything saying that! Click it, and change them to NS.SOURCEDNS.COM and NS1.SOURCEDNS.COM

If you get stuck, contact the person responsible for registering your domain name and ask him/her to change the nameservers for you.

How do I put a page inside a page (related pages)?

When you are on the "Mode: Website Builder - Intermediate" user mode, click a page on your website that you want to add a related page to (like in a drop down list), and then scroll to the bottom and click "Create Related Page"... then just create the page as normal.

One minute I can do something, then I can't (user modes)?

Changing the user modes located in the top left of the page will hide and unhide things from you to make the interface easier to understand and use.  This gives you the means to be able to choose a user-mode that complements your website creation skills. You can, however, switch from user-mode to user-mode whenever you want.
